FAQ of DAVE

Q: Where are you from, Dave?
A: Born in Baltimore, raised and grew up in Elkridge, MD and Ellicott City, MD. My parents currently live in Columbia, MD.

Q: Where did you go to school, Dave?
A: Well since this questions lacks specificity (and I’m the one asking these questions so I’ll have a word with me later), I guess I’ll start from the beginning. I went to Columbia Academy until 2nd grade when I transferred to Elkridge Elementary School. Then I hopped across the parking lot to Elkridge Landing Middle School for 6th grade until my family moved from Elkridge to Ellicott City where I finished middle school at Burleigh Manor Middle School. I graduated from Centennial High School where then I went on to Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA here I graduated with a BFA in Acting and minor in Vocal Performance.

Q: Were you always involved in theatre?
A: Not really. I was a jock for most of my life, primarily baseball and wrestling. I was also part of the school band from fourth grade through tenth grade where I played the trumpet.

Q: What made the bug bite?
A: Again, with a question lacking in specificity (I promise, I’m scheduling that talk now), I’m going to assume you mean the acting bug. It was my junior year of high school. It started when I was cast as Joey Biltmore in Guys and Dolls and was fully sunk in that spring when I was in Pippin.

Q: Do you do other stuff in the art world besides just act?
A: Now we’re making some progress on this specificity thing. Yes, I do. I’m also a playwright and screenwriter.

Ok, I’m moving on from this forum cause asking myself questions and then answering them is worrying me more than it should. But to continue on the last question, I am an award-winning playwright and screenwriter. I’ve had work produced in both New York and Virginia. My full-length, September 11th Was a Tuesday, took home second place in the statewide New Voices of Virginia Playwriting Competition. I’ve also been a finalist in the World Series of Screenwriting and the Hollywood Screenwriting Contest. My short film, The Re-Renaissance, which I wrote took home the Audience Choice Award out of 50+ submissions at the 2017 Sparrow Film Project.

Outside of the 'industry', I'm just a long-haired, beach bumming, music listening, pun loving, dog dad (her name is Bella if you were wondering) kind of guy. I also really enjoying playing pool.

Ok, one last question.

Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: Because I have to.

Be excellent to each other.

Dave.
